started as a mechatronics engineering intern, ended up staying for 10 months and taking on a lot more than the internship description suggested.
the main project was a delta robot that detects and cuts eggplant stems on a moving conveyor: computer vision pipeline in python with a custom yolo model, motion control in triobasic, and real-time communication over ethercat. it cuts over 30 tons of eggplants a day at 99% accuracy.
someone filmed it and posted it online. it hit the top of r/oddlysatisfying with 6k+ upvotes and got over 1.5 million views across platforms.
beyond the robot, i worked on electrical systems, schematics, and control engineering tasks across different automation projects at the company.
